This Lunch & Learn will be centered on “The Future of Tourism in Historic Cities” based on the example of Chester and include expertise from destination marketing, research and planning. It will be consider how Chester developed as a place and particularly as a tourism city, the challenges it now faces and how it can use tourism as a means of delivering future success. The lecture will look forward as much as back and use examples that can be widely applicable in historic towns and cities. Chester is not only one of the Twin Towns of Lörrach and home of the University of Chester (partner of the DHBW Lörrach), but also one of the best preserved walled cities in Britain.
